Bluebell View – Warwick University
The new build 500 bedroom student accommodation split into 4 blocks, designed and constructed to a BREEAM excellent standard.
The building receives heating and hot water from the University’s combined heat and power system. Calumet services installed a new storage area and then laid around 10 kilometers of underground district heating pipework to service each new plantroom.
Within each plantroom we installed plate heat exchangers for both the hot water and general heating systems with cold water storage and booster sets to each block.
The services distributed around the ground floor into each “pod” riser that housed the LTHW, boosted hot & cold water, drainage and extract air. The fans where located on the roof in specially designed housings that also incorporated heat recovery units to serve each common room area located in each wing.
The new BMS system was successfully commissioned and integrated onto the main campus “head end”.
